Is DNNCorp going to address any of these questions? A little information goes a long way toward community loyalty.

I agree with Steven that a little update would be nice. Last week Will mentioned that the migration tool would be out shortly after 6.2.1, which he suggested would be out this week. So I guess either 6.2.1 has been delayed or will be out today or tomorrow. Then the migration tool would be out early next week. Just guessing though.

6.2.1 was delayed by a week in order for us to do some additional performance testing.

I realize there have been a lot of questions and I have been trying to answer as accurately as possible. Granted, some of the answers aren't what people want to hear and so the question is asked again. I would prefer if people would ask any specific questions in the Community exchange. This makes it much easier for us to track and follow-up. It is also easier for us to point people to groups of related questions.

We are working on the migration process. We are very close to releasing AF 5.0. Anyone can look on codeplex and see the source check-ins to see that progress is being made.

Again, please use the Community Exchange if you have specific questions and we will provide answers.

Will,
I have to say I'm becoming extremely frustrated with your [lack of] responses to questions or follow ups from users. You specially asked many of us (long time active social users) to participate in the customer focus group. We all did and provided valuable feedback and ideas along the way using the forum you specifically asked us to use.

Initially responses were quick and accurate. After 6.2 launched responses dropped dramatically. Now you are basically saying , oh, your posting in the wrong place and you should really be checking my code check ins on codeplex to get a status update on when the forum will release.

Are you kidding me?

Stop making us all guess and hunt and peck through forums, the exchange, codeplex and activemodules.com to try and read the tea leaves as to what to expect in the product

Please consider that not all of us know what you are up to. You don't communicate often (if at all) and challenge anyone who asks for a follow up on things you have committed to on phone calls, in blog posts or in the forum.

DNN Corp already has a CorpComm issue, and when the Director of Product Management treats long time, loyal customers like this it doesn't help. I think you know I'm a VERY patient guy and I don't get frustrated easily, but you need to realize you are doing damage here to people who practically have a DNN tattoo.

So, I've posted in the Q & A module now (I tried previously but it would not work before). I look forward to timely and accurate responses from you or the DNN team. BTW - I did check your profile for answers in the exchange for some of the very specific questions posted here, but didn't see any...also the link from profile answers doesn't seem to work.

I would also recommend if you or the product team have no intention of using the focus group forum anymore you lock it and pin a post directing us to use the community exchange. There has also been a request to setup a Social and Forum section in the DNN forums for questions about these modules. you may also consider shuttering activemodules.com as at this point it seems to just confuse new users and is just one more place for us long time users to try and find scraps of information that might help us read your mind.

Again, as I've said in this thread (and for years on activemodules.com). A little communication goes a LONG way. Bad news is fine (e.g. we're not porting message) but information like that is key to development and migration planning, timelines, roadmaps and budgets. Please understand and respect that on the other end of your development roadmap (the one we can't seem to see) there are teams and people and departments who have users and goals and budgets that depend on knowing what to expect from DNN.

Respectfully,
A very frustrated long time user....

Steven! I am surprised at your outburst. This is so unlike you.

Will has always been slow and impatient with answering questions. Even when he was a small biz owner. He used to get frustrated and angry at us because of our follow ups and requests. He even threatened refunds and restricted few users. This was when he needed us as customers. He does not need us anymore. He and Dotnetnuke are now providing AS and AF (with some features reserved for DNN Professional users) for "free" to us so I can imagine him getting mad at us for not being patient. He probably even thinks we are ungrateful.

I bet even after 6.2.1 and AF 5, they will not release the migration script soon simply because they does not care about old Active Modules customers. Why should they? They does not need us as much as we need them. I think it's just being human. We probably would the same thing if we were in their shoes. We are frustrated only because we are the receiving end.

We just have to suck it up and be patient.
