Hi; I'm still running 5.6. My site was infested according to Google. That has been cleared. However, now the Newsletter module does not work anymore. I would like to remove it and then reinstall it to see if that fixes things. I can't find a way to remove it. Any help is welcome.

Hans,

I had a similar problem in the last days, but I am not sure what you are trying to do. Are you removing a module (instance) from a page, or do you want to uninstall the extension?

Best wishes
Michael

Hi Michael;

Newsletter module does not work anymore in 5.6.7 after apparent infestation and subsequent removal of whatever bad code by service provider. Emails to administrator work but get message that says "The message was not delivered to the following address(es) - " for each user to which email is directed. (Addresses are not identified!) I was thinking that if i could remove the Newsletter module code altogether and re-install it, things might work better. Don't know what else to try. Open to any ideas.

Hans

ps. i like your module for sending messages and am using it also. Only problem with it is that the messages seem to be searchable by anyone, but that's a different matter,

Hans,

what did the service provider remove? Maybe reinstalling the extension could help (if the same version is installed, you have the repair option, or you find a newer version of the module). The danger could be that this "bad code" will be removed by the provider again...

Best wishes
Michael

PS: Thanks. The search is only possible if you display the messages on the page. But that's a different matter. If you have any problems or suggestions, please use the discussions section of the project.

Hi again;

Don't know anything about a repair option. As far as i know all i seem to be able to do is update the files of 5.6.7 (same as already installed) as done in normal upgrade. Don't know how to just re-install Newsletter module.

Hans
