Hey Bill,

You pretty much got the idea of what my complaint iss and what my request is for a setting in dotnetnuke that I MAY have missed.... but i have looked and looked and looked but cant find a setting that is an answer to my issue.

DNN should treat portals as independent roots.... as far as url references are concerned... on the server side that would make programming of skins, containers and modules much easier to develop... would not have to remember - here I must use a token for SKINPATH and there I cant and over there I dont need to ?  Its simply logical to assume that I overlooked somewhere a setting that will cause all references to be virtual mappings that can be resolved through an absolute reference.  But they obviously dont... so it looks like I need to find some other answer.

Its not only the user,,, but spiders and SEO listings and the ability to have fine control over my optimization in order to achieve proximity strength and build on semantic references....  I dont see any fix to this issue at all

It is simply unacceptable for EXTREME tuning of proximity and semantics to not be able to fix this somehow... there must be an answer... just dont know what it is yet :-(

Bill
