DNN 6.2

I purchased a skin and have sucessfully added the skin. But I cannot seem to get the portal template that came with the skin installed.
The files skin.template and skin.template resources have been copied into ../Portals/_default/Templates.
From Admin->Site Wizard->Next brings the "Choose a Template for your site" form.  Check "Build your site from a template".

Here is the problem.  The template list shows only the default DNN templates but not the skin template.

I have 2 questions.  Am I approaching this the wrong way?  If so how should the skin template be installed?
Or, if I am doing this correctly, how to I get the skin template to show in the Template List of the Site Wizard?

Thanks for you help.
