We've activated the client depency framework on one of our sites (DNN 6.1.5). It gave a huge boost in performance. After a while the ClientDependency folder in AppData became > 7 Gb!

Because Disk Space is an issue on that specific server I wanted to stop the clientdepency framework (or at least tweak some settings) and clear the cached data. Now I receive errors in the windows log like:

Exception message: no map was found for the dependency key: 306d293dad5080ced8ddad71923e9609 ,CompositeUrlType.MappedId requires that a map is found

How can I control the amount of cached data?

Regards,
Peter Nuiten.

From the codeplex documentation tab

If you have debug set to false and you want clear the ClientDependency cache, you can do one of the following things: Change the version number in the ClientDependency config
Delete the ClientDependency folder from App_Data
You DO NOT have to restart the app pool to clear ClientDependency cache

When I increment the version the files don't get deleted. I've deleted the files but now I receive errors in the windows log.

Should I remove the ClientDepency folder completely?

I have reported that many times here, but i have been told that .... well ... it doesn't happen.

But it does.

What i do from time to time is delete all files in that folder and the files are recreated.

DO NOT REMOVE THE WHOLE FOLDER !!!

This is including the xml file containing the mapping information?

And do you have to do an increment of the version or does that make no difference?

I've got a feeling there is some caching to files that doesn't exist anymore.
