I went back to page 1 and started reading through the whole thread as my search started me on page 9. I was able to work around the issue with this suggestion:

Workaround that solved this problem for me was: I changed the Control Panel (Host -> Host Settings -> Other Settings) from "Controlbar" to "Ribbonbar".

Thanks.

I can confirm that I am experiencing the unable to edit problem in DNN 7.0.1. Is this problem scheduled to be fixed at any point? In my case I am unable to use the ribbonbar as it also causes an error. Currently I am unable to update my site content.

The main problem was fixed a long time ago but it does still appear on occasion due to browser or server issues. First, try clearing all cookies for your site from your browser. If you're still experiencing the problem, follow the instructions for setting runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/F...

Not sure (thread has become too long to re read everything), if anyone has read this blog post by Rick Strahl: http://www.west-wind.com/weblog/posts...

from that post it becomes clear this is not a DotNetNuke issue. Look at this quote:

“This seems really obvious now of course, but the really tricky thing about this is that on IIS 7.5 this key is not necessary. So on my Windows 7 machine ASP.NET Routing was working just fine without the key set. However on IIS 7.0 on my live server the same missing setting was not working. On IIS 7.0 this key must be present or Routing will not work.

So the next statement is even more interesting:

“Oddly on IIS 7.5 it appears that you can’t even turn off the behavior – setting runtAllManagedModuleForAllRequests="false" had no effect at all and Routing continued to work just fine even with the flag set to false, which is NOT what I would have expected.”

I had this very issue until I followed a few links and found this....

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980368

Seems to be an issue with IIS and not DNN.
