i copied the dnn 6.2.3 files over 6.2.2 installation as the weak dnn installation instructions instruct. however nothing happens after that. how do i upgrade from 6.2.2 to 6.2.3?

well i tried copying files again, this time using the merge folder option....this is the result when i browse my home page when logged in as host:

what a sorry lame upgrade process.

What package did you using? I think you used the install package and overrides the web.config file with a new one, and you loosed the DB Connection.

You have to restore all files and the database from a previous backup. Then download the Update package and unlock the zip file, then extrackt the files over the existing dnn instance.
Run the upgrade.

Install package should only be used for a new install.

i wish it were so easy. the download i used to upgrade was DotNetNuke_Community_06.02.03_Upgrade.....looks like an upgrade package to me....

Normely it is so easy.  Looks like a permission issue.

Please restore from backup your files and the database.  Double check the permissions on the root path of your dnn instance and make sure the permissions are inherit to all files and subfolders.  The application Poll user must have full permissions.  The iUsers or IUser must have read permission (if you don't use the 'dbo' as the databaseOwner it could be that the IUsers must have execute permissions for the Upgrade only).
