Hi,

I've done a couple of upgrade from dnn5.6.0 to 6.1.5 successfully. For some reason, when I tried upgrading one of my sites from 5.6.5 to 6.1.5 I get the following error.

Can anyone please suggest what kind of problem do the errors related to?

Thanks

If you drill down into this path:

\Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\

What does it say in 06.00.00.log.resources and 06.01.00.log.resources ? (this will tell you what sql errors occurred)

Thanks Scott, I've got this below, but it doesn't seems to help much to me.

Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.   at DotNetNuke.Services.Upgrade.Upgrade.AddProfessionalPreviewPages()
   at DotNetNuke.Services.Upgrade.Upgrade.UpgradeToVersion600()
   at DotNetNuke.Services.Upgrade.Upgrade.UpgradeApplication(String providerPath, Version version, Boolean writeFeedback)

Be sure that no files are write protected.

Restrore files and database from a previous done backup.  Be sure writeprotection is disabled on the zip file, extract the file and be sure file permissions are inherit to all subfolders and files on your DNN root path.

If you running a instance not using the dbo as ist Default database Schema, check the databaseOwner property on your web.config file. Also it could be possible on some webservers that you set execution permissions for the IUsers (IUser) if the dtabase Default Schema is not dbo.

Do you use an objectQualifier?

Do you use the DNN upgrade package?

Ray,
I had the same issue in my upgrade.  There were several components, but the biggest was that the SQL Provider in 6.0.01 was incorrect in one procedure. Also, I discovered that several tabs were interrupted during their construction.

See my post at http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Forums/forumid/107/postid/467816/scope/posts.aspx#467816 , it is named Upgrade to 06.02.03 Failing in Installing Dotnetnuke.

Hans
