ActiveForum 5.0.2

I have several sites with forums. On one site, one of the forums has 2 sub forums. One of these gives an error for all 4 topics. Note these all came from Active Forums.

If I go into edit mode (forum edit, not page edit), I can see post no problem, in view mode I get the error. All the forums have same settings, templates, skins, etc.
Anyone have any idea how to fix this error?

You need to delete some of the old forum and forum group settings. Unfortunately, you have to do this with SQL.

There is a discussion on the Active Forums project on CodePlex that details how to do it. I don't have time to find the link right now, but the codeplex site is:

Speaking of AF...

I was at AF 4.3.7 and upgraded to the free 5.0.2 update. Sadly there are a few too many issues with 5.x and I think I rather go back to 4.3.7 is this possible? If so how?

Before someone asks here are my reasons/issues with vr5;

1. It no longer supports the basic profile/avatar but uses the DNN profile/avatar. For the life of me AF 5 does not display a avatar image even if under the DNN profile a avatar is uploaded. I see the avatar pic under my profile but get the default blank avatar in the forum.

2. vr5 does not support 3rd party PM system anymore which I use. My users liked the PM icon under the avatar and do not like the DNN PM system as it seems quite crude.

3. For whatever reason my last posts block generates a critical error and can no longer display last posts since the upgrade to 5. Seems as if that block no longer even works.

1) Avatars are working fine in my 5.0.2 instance. Maybe a profile permission issue?

2) You should be able to add a PM icons back. For the record, I really like the core messaging system. I just think it needs some minor tweaks to go from "OK" to great. Hopefully it will get there in a future release of DNN. We really need more people talking about the social features in general so DNN corp knows what works and what doesn't.

3) I think you're talking about the active topics modules (or whatever it was called). It hasn't been updated to work with AF 5. The authors are making the argument that it's not needed now that we have the journal. I personally, don't agree and hope they decide to update it. I have a lot of users that are complaining about it being gone now that I've upgraded to 5.0.

1. I has to be something to do with me going from AF 4.3 to 5. What however I don't know. Any ideas?

2. If I re-install the DNN PM system back how do I get the icon back? I see not opinion in the settings menu of AF.

3. UGH! Wonderful. How you can have a forum and NOT some kind of recent posts feature is beyond me... the journal does NOT cut it...

So do you know how to downgrade back to 4.3 or if it is even possible?
