I upgraded from DNN 6.1 to 6.2 then 7. However now when a user uploads a avatar in their new DNN 7 profile it does not display anywhere except in their profile. It shows just the blank placeholder avatar in active forums, journal, private message center, etc. Any help greatly appreciated!

I have limited experience with DNN, but I had a similar issue.  What I discovered was the URL of the image was not being set correctly.  For me, it ended up being the Site Alias.

If you go to Host - Site Management, make sure that your site's .com is listed first in the alias list.  Any other alias' should be below that.

As I said, I don't have a lot of experience, but I certainly hope this helps you.

Thank you for the reply Richard however I only have 1 alias in my settings that being my main site address. Thinking back I feel it's been broken for awhile.

I was using in DNN 4/5 active forums and active social for some time and everything was working fine. Then on some upgrade on DNN 5 active social broke. There was no update to the module and none was forthcoming at the time. IIRC the advice of the dev team was 'don't upgrade'. A little late for me at that point. So while AF was running fine AS was not so I uninstalled AS. Still using active forums basic profile feature (that was stripped out of the newest vr 5) users were using the forum to manage their avatar so the DNN profile avatar was moot. Well with the DNN upgrade to 7 and the AF upgrade to 5, AF now uses the DNN profile pic to the avatar.

Looking back I am thinking since I uninstalled AS I think that is when the avatars on the DNN profile 'broke'. As other modules that pull the DNN profile pic never worked after that. But since no one really used it it never was a issue.

Not sure if this info is a help to anyone or not to resolve my issue.

I've only one alias and I've updated to the latest DNN 7.0.4 version but the Avatar image don't appear! In the profile page I've setted the photo preference but it is not visibile on the Avatar.

Any solution about?
