I'm on the following page to begin the DNN install and see an error message related to the db.
- URL: Install/InstallWizard.aspx
- Error: No valid default database connection detected. Standard Database setup option is unavailable

I've updated the web.config to point to my custom db, but the error doesn't go away.
Also, I see a message "DotNetNuke is being installed. Thanks for your patience..." under the "Continue" button, but don't think it's related since I've waited over 10 mins and nothing happens.

You can try to install it using a temporary database and then changing your web.config file to point to the existing one.

Hi,

Don't choose the rapid setup. When choosing personalized setup, you can create a new database.

I found a solution to this - but, it's a little convoluted.

After uploading the files to the hosting account/server but before starting the install - you will need to set the ASP.NET version to 4.0 in *Classic* mode (installer won't work properly on Integrated).

Once you've entered in all of the required info, etc. - the installer starts to populate the DB, etc.

At this point, it will error saying that it needs integrated mode. You will need to change the pool to Integrated from Classic and then wait a few seconds and hit Retry (may take up to a minute for DNN to see the change) and it should install fine after that.

Changing to Classic mode did not work for me. I get the error below when I do that:

HTTP Error 404.2 - Not Found

The page you are requesting cannot be served because of the ISAPI and CGI Restriction list settings on the Web server.
