I'm looking to migrate a site from 6.2.2 to 7.0.2.  The upgrade procedure finished without errors and I'm able to see my site.  My admin skin conflicted with the new menu so I have set the default skin and containers to Aphelia.

On first load, the page looks fine but on refresh:

  • a number of JS functions stop working,
  • View state drops ~20k ,
  • a few JS files are not requested. (/jquery.console.js and initTooltips.js for instance)
  • admin function won't save anything.  Page refreshes but changes are never posted to the DB.
  • Postbacks fail - the same content is returned but with missing styles.
  • Styles on various form elements are lost

I have completely blown out my /portals/_default/ folder and rebuilt it from a fresh install version.

I had to manually update the db to use the new skins and containers.

Nothing is reported in the event viewer except some URL master stuff (yes, I have updated URL master)

Restarting app or flushing the cache will make the page render properly but none of the functions work still.

Ideas?

EDIT: switched to ribbon bar in DB, restarted, no change

Any chance you're having some browser caching issues?

Do you have the Client Dependancy Framework stuff enabled?

CDF enabled and I can't disable it (post back fails)

Where can I disable manually?

EDIT: already disabled in portal, now disabled in host setting too.  Confirmed with app pool restart.
tl;dr: no change

Yikies - just spotted the issue! I was in view mode.

Really, view mode needs to be disabled for both admin and host pages automatically.

Spoke too soon, edit mode fixed it for RibbonBar but the new ControlBar still exhibits the above behaviour.

I guess I will stick with RibbonBar   :S
