Hi, after I upgraded my website to DNN 07.00.05 I get a lot of General Exceptions in my Logfile. I can see 2 or 3 General Exceptions every second in the logfile. This has a huge effect on the database performance and it seems that these errors generate a lot of reads per sec on my datgabase file.

I have manage to find out that if I stop the "Search Engine Scheduler" (under host, schedule) that the errors will stop.

Any tips or suggestions how to fix these errors??

Thankx in advanced :)

Ronald

Exactly I'm not sure any more about the "Search Engine Scheduler" because the errors came backup while the schedule was stopped.

Hi Ronald,
That error message means that there is a problem with the site talking to its database. Usually an error like this indicates that a module is not properly closing its SQL connections and is doing a "connection leak" to the database.

Hi Tony,
Thanks.

I understand that "System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): Timeout expired." is concerning a database error. The database seems to wrk normal and correctly. The only this is that DotNetNuke generates a lot of read querys. (more dan 40.000.000 b/sec, normally about: 20.000 b/sec).

But why every second about 2 or 3 events in my logfile.

Also:
PortalID: -1 (does not exisit in my database)
PortalName: (why is this empty)
UserID: -1 (does not exisit in my database)
ActiveTabID: -1 (does not exisit in my database)

Any idea where does this come from? And why -1 values?

Also I notice the ExceptionGUID this is different for each event entry.
ExceptionGUID: 518db5ca-ade1-460f-835f-f11dae356eac

Is there a way to lookup these GUID's?

Kind regards,
Ronald

Hi,

For information...

I still have a feeling that the "Search Engine Scheduler" is part of the errors. When "Search Engine Scheduler" is stopped, the errors seems to stop and also the reads per sec drops extreme.

Anyone have any indication about
PortalID: -1
UserID: -1

Both does not exist in de database.

Thanks in advanced.

Grtx.
Ronald
