Hello!

I have created my first simple Dnn 7 Community Edition site locally and want to deploy/publish it to a web server. Will try the suggestion by Michael Tobisch to deploy the complete local DNN installation by making a .zip file of …My Websites\My Website1 and all files below. Next issue is how to update on web server when only small changes are made locally. How do i find what file/files locally that must be updated on web server and how should they be installed on web server.

Regards

Lars

Lars - For the community edition, and Professional edition, once you get it in production the most common thing to do is to do updates in production after that.

Hi Lars,

For small changes from develop to production I use Beyond Compare. A great tool for updating and comparing your skin folder contents. It compares files and filecontent.

But beware not to overwrite any server or application specific code or settings! Anything outside the desktopmodule, skins or container folder should be left where it is.

Kind regards,

Stefan
