Hello,

I have the relevant whitepapers, got the manuals, watched the Webinars on social...

Is there a technical guide on building/adding social to a DNN site? If I was to start with a clean slate (so to speak), is there a guide to adding the relevant pages, controls and config settings?

It all seems to be in pieces in various docs and posts, nothing dedicated to actually building social into the site using the social controls/tools.

Unless I've missed something!

Oh, it would be great if there was a "Going Social" section in the forums.

Thanks

this http://www.ifinity.com.au/2012/07/31/... is the best guide I know for starting from scratch. I fully agree with the "social" forum and have suggested it a few times , i'll ping the forums team and ask again, but for now I'll probably create some wiki content to help out.

Hi Cathal,

Thanks for the feedback! most useful indeed.

I wiki post based on that (with the overall aim/approach explained too) would be great on the DNN site. That social forum would help many people I'm sure.

Thanks again.

Cathal, this is an old thread of mine you replied to.

Is there any wiki entry covering similar material as in this iFinity link you sent me?

Can this be done in DNNPlatform 7.1.x or whatever is the latest/greatest?

If so, some guidance would be great!

Thanks!

I don't know of any wiki page that covers that, but all of it can be still done i.e. those steps should be identical - in fact some of social configuration is easier now e.g. the journal module no longer has a "journal mode" that needs set as it now has logic to detect when it's in profile or group mode.
