Do to the JQuery hints I changed the settings and added the migration script.
The properties in host settings | advanced | JQuery are now:

Geïnstalleerde jQuery Versie: 1.9.1
Geïnstalleerd jQuery UI Version: 1.10.3
Gebruik jQuery Debug Versie? yes 
Gebruik Gehoste jQuery Versie? yes 
URL Gehoste jQuery:http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.2/jquery.min.js 
Gehoste jQuery migratie plugin URL: http://code.jquery.com/jquery-migrate-1.2.1.js
URL Gehoste jQuery UI:http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8.16/jquery-ui.min.js

No change in behaviour. Kept the settings!

Back to the Documents module functions New document and Edit document: Searching for a trigger to find the cause of the trouble. 

Tracking the activated and returned URL:

Is tabid=343 the troublemaker? Not existing? Where is it pointing at?

I don't think it happend with the TabID!  Have you check to Change the friendlyURL Settings in the Host Settings?

mid -> moduleID = 1310 = Documents module

The edit dialog is using the edit skin: When you go to edit a document, you are switching to the "Edit" skin.  Therefore, it sounds like an issue with the skin that is identified in "Admin" -> "Site Settings" as an edit skin.
