Hi

I am looking for a way to validate a module so that more than one instance of the module cannot be added to a single DNN page. I dont think there is any settings in DNN itself.

Thanks,
Sunil Kumar [ DNN Developer, Mindfire Solutions,India ]

there is a unique constraint on Tabmodules table, covering columns TabId and ModuleId, sorry.

Sebastian,I dont think i can find the solution if i try to do it in my custom module by using the TabModules table.
I need to put some validation outside my module, may be on page level so that once this module added admin will be restricted to add this module again.
Is there any way?

Thanks,

oops, I misunderstood your subject. You want to restrict the same module definition being used twice on a page. You may check on module load, whether there is already another instance on the page (with lower tabid) and present a warning

Sorry, again you are saying the same thing. If i add the validation in module load, then any how module will be loaded but with a warning. And it might happen that the other module added previously will show the same warning.
