Greetings,

After upgrading my DNN CE which had two languages from v5 to v7 successfully through the suggested path, I encountered one big problem..in short I have language X and language Y. when I click on Language X the URL becomes (/Default.aspx?tabid=xx&language=X), but then when I click again on language Y the URL becomes (/Default.aspx?tabid=xx&language=X?tabid=xx&language=Y). Clicking again on any language will keep adding it to the URL (/Default.aspx?tabid=xx&language=X?tabid=xx&language=Y?tabid=xx&language=Y).

Which doesn't redirect me to the translated page and goes back to the default language, which stops me from navigating between the languages.

I think I didn't encounter this in v6 only v7 and of course in v5 it was working fine, but anyway my aim is v7.

This the only thing stopping me from moving it to production.

Hi,

This happens because "Use Friendly URLs" is unchecked in HostSettings, Advanced settings, Friendly Url settings.
This is why you have query parameters in your url.

If you check " Use Friendly URLs", the query parameters are transformed to a path in the url.

And this eliminate your problem.

I be aware about your use case problem and will post a bug report for it.

Hi,

Just wanted to say that I just found out that we can't go live with this solution since we distributed links containing the language parameter: tabid=xx&language=Y.

Hoping this will be fixed soon :)

Did you try using those links?

You may find that they work. I believe that the friendly format is in addition to, not in replace of the querystring format.
