Has anyone ever come across a module that can do the following:

  • Allow registered users to upload images to a directory within the site and assign keywords to each image
  • Once the image has been approved, these same registered users could search through the directory of images to find the ones they are looking for (ex.  red building, or animal barns)

I understand that this may be multiple module, but I am struggling to find something to fit this requirement.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

there are lots of photogallery type modules (e.g https://dnnyag.codeplex.com/ ), but I'm not sure that all of them support tagging. Of commercial ones http://www.ventrian.com/modules/simpl... does for sure (he also has http://www.ventrian.com/modules/socia... though I'm not sure if that's available yet) - a quick look on the store for "gallery" module with tag shows some possibilities - http://store.dnnsoftware.com/home/pro...

File Share is another option. It's not specific to images, but it does have the features you are looking for.

Have a look at the www.smartrebrander.com library - it allows uses to do pretty much exactly what you are talking about - and also uses an Azure CDN for image storage - its also a document and video library as well - with some other complex rebranding/affilaite marketing and republishing features - but at its core it is doing the sort of thing you are looking for most likely - let me know if its of interest.

Ventrian's "Social Images" is still in beta - but it might do what you want. It makes a kind of "pinterest" interface.
