Hi,

I just instaleld DNN 4.3.1

1. When I click on REgister and go to REgistration page, the instructions at te top still say "fileds marked with asterisk (*) are required"; but in the new design, there are no more asterisks; they are replaced by "red arrow in acircle"

2. While creating a new Child portal from a site template created out of the main portal, it gives an error "Error parsing skin". It finally creates the site but all the content pages are gone including the Home page. The Menu contains simply Admin menu

3. When someone registers online, we used to get a page that says "Thank you for REgitering with us; you will receive an email with verification code, etc."; now with 4.3.1, I don't see that page; it simply shows the home page.

Are these unique to my installation  or did you also face these oroblems?

Thanks,
VR

Regarding Items 1 and 3: it’s a normal functionality.

Additionally I can tell about item 1 following: you can update message at the top: you can insert a red arrow in circle instead of text "…an asterisk (*)…". To do this you need to edit resource file [DNN_FOLDER]/admin/Users/App_LocalResources/ManageUsers.ascx.resx, resource name - "Required.Text".

Replace text “an asterisk (*)” with "&lta href="[PATH_TO_DNN]/images/required.gif"&gt". Where [PATH_TO_DNN] – path to your DNN site, e.g. "http://localhost/dnn".

Regarding item 2: it’s not normal functionality. I’ve tried on my computer, all works fine. Do you have some specific information about this problem?

Note that 4.3.2 is available now and it contains some bugfixes; I'd suggest considering a new fresh install of 4.3.2.

Thank you for that tip (above quoted) to correct the text displayed on the 4.3.2 registration page.  I had one more thing about Registration that I hoped to change.  How may I choose which fields are required/displayed?  I would rather NOT require "Display Name", but I cannot locate the place where I can choose which fields/info to collect during Registration.  Is there a way to control this?

If a problem can be solved, there's no use worrying about it.
If it can't be solved, worrying will do no good.
