Hi,

After I tried to install 4.3.1 many times with different configurations(on SQL Server 2000 and 2005),

I think there are bugs in installation script files and maybe on another setup related files.

Like many others I got errors on setup.

I checked the log files on C:\DotNetNuke_2\Website\Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider folder and there are many errors in this files.

I tried to fix script files and I could install it finally, but as I'm not a DNN developer and I don't know the DNN. So I don't trust my solutions.

Is there anybody could succeed to install and work 4.3.1?

Are there any important differences between 4.0.3 and 4.3.1?

For guys who want to make a site ASAP what do you suggest, version 4.0.3 or 4.3.1?

Thanks a lot

I have successfully set up 4.3.1 on a localhost machine as well as a remote server. However, in the remote install (completed earlier today) I am missing many modules. Still troubleshooting now...but, just wanted to let you know that I have successfully installed the newest version and have been able to build sites with both of them.

I suggest that you start fresh, log what you do step by step and don't deviate from the installation guidelines.  Good Luck!

I would go with 4.0.3. I have been running a site with that version for a while and all has been well.
An upgrade to 4.3.1 has caused a slew of problems, even though the install/upgrade was clean.
I am excited to get access to some new modules being updated with 4.3.1, but think it is better to wait for 4.3.2 at least for production.

The official DNN site has been upgraded to 4.3.1, and the core team has had some fun working out the kinks!
Let the pros sort it out and wait for the stabilization release, likely 4.3.2.

Good luck, Jim

Hi,

Yes, there are bugs, but...many people do fresh installs of all versions with no problems.

I suggest you post some of the specific error messages, and some people on this forum can probably help you.  The errors in the sql logs would be helpful.  However, in addition, what do you see in the web browser during installation and subsequently?  What leads you to believe the installation was unsuccessful in the first place?

The core team has spoken quite clearly that as of now the 4.3, 3.3 releases are just Release Candidates and not production ready.

Upgrading existing installs appears to be the riskiest past as well.

Looks like it is 4.03 for now, but I expect the 4.3 releases to be stable soon.
