Hey all,

Wondering if someone can help.

I was tasked with migrating a DNN Site/Server from one domain to another. It's an old version of DNN, and the person who managed it is no longer with the organization. The easiest solution we found was to tell Management to use a new version that we had configured and working properly, but they didn't want to move content and reconfigure the site. So here I am...

Problem:

The form authentication on the site is no longer allowing users to authenticate. The site itself still functions. It pulls content from the SQL DB, but I'm getting "Login Failed" and no other error message when attempting to login.

This is tied to the AD infrastructure. I'm trying to figure out why it can't bind. All of the domains are trusted and linked. All servers are still reachable.

Steps I've tried:

1. Modifying the web.config to set the impersonate user to a new user in the new domain

2. Modified the Sql DB to look at the new OU structure in the new domain.

Still a no go.

Can anyone help out? Thanks a lot!

You should be able to login to the site using your DNN Host username and password.  Once you do that you can go to Admin | Extentions | Authentication Providers or Admin | Authentication Providers or something in that realm.

Locate DNN AD Authentication Provider and you can check the settings there for your AD authentication.
