Hello,

After headaches trying to get DNN installed on my web server (Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard), I've finally succeeded.  I'm using a database on a server rather than SQL Express.

I had trouble getting the software to install, but now that step is done.  All objects have been created in my database, but now when I attempt to navigate to the site (../Default.aspx), I get the error:

DNN Error

Connection To The Database Failed

How is that possible?  Didn't it just connect to the database to create all the database objects in the prior step?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

this sounds like an issue accessing web.config, make sure that the windows user used by ASP.Net (see IIS App Pool Advanced Configuration) has full access to all files inside the install directory.

Thanks. I did this yesterday after posting and it worked. I had ASP.NET impersonation on and setup in IIS, which I thought would be sufficient.  Once I noticed I could attach the user credentials to the AppPool, I did so and was successful.  Thanks for your reply.
