Hi, Great job on being able to disable fields on user registration, the registration form is much less scary for users!

In 4.3.2, I have the last name and first name disabled and not visible in the user properties, and they still appear on the registration form as required.  How can I get rid of these fields.

Also, where can I get more information on display name?  Can I disable it?  Where is it used?  The docs don't seem to have much on it.

I just want to simply ask for username, email, and password.

Thanks,
Mike

Display name is used to show the Fullname as is the successor of 'Firstname + " " + Lastname' as this does not fit for all countries. AFAIK, firstname, lastname and displayname cannot be omitted.

Leupold, As a core team member could you answer why the Display Name does not get populated for new users when using integrated Authentication? In an intranet environment using Authentication a new user visits your portal their account is created, but the display name is not populated. This prevents that individual from seeing their name link and therefore they cannot edit their profile.

I am running into the same issue as PaskettJ.  The portal I am developing automatically pulls the user's first and last name, as well as the user's email address.  However, it does not generate the name in the Display Name field.  What I need to do is have the first and last name appear in the Display Name field automatically.  So, this post is basically just to let PaskettJ know that he doesn't have a unique problem and to bump this thread.   :D

If Leupold or anyone else has any advice it would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Rory
