I assume the error message displayed is not connected to opening settings, it is obviously from a background process (scheduled search).

 Sebastian,

I found an article that talked about removing the Users from the search results and I think that has resolved the issue.  I will try and dig up the article again.

I wrote a blog post about it some time ago, you simply need to modify the stored procedure to return no records.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold

Upgraded a site - www.myrtlebeachgolftalk.com to DNN 7.3.4 and Events 6.1.5 and noticed that there are now two issues:

  1. If Popups are enabled for the site, trying to go into the Events Settings (not the module settings) results in a critical error (I'll list below)
  2. A sub-calendar, even though it has the primary calendar listed, is not showing any events

The error generated when Popups are enabled is:

I tried to reproduce the error and could do that 1 (one) time (clean install DNN734).

I used the debug dll's to find the line of code that caused the error, but now the pop-up works without problem.

I reverted back to the normal DLL's, but it keeps working as it should, so no error in the pop-up. Reset IIS, no problem, started clean browsing, no problem.

Can you try the debug dll's and see if you can specify the problematic line#/code file? The debug DLL's and instructions can be downloaded from DNNEvents.CodePlex.com.

Ernst Peter,

I haven't had a chance to try this yet, I apologize. I will try it in the next couple of weeks as I am struggling to resolve a little bigger error.

Ernst,

It turns out that this had nothing to do with the Events module at all, it was the schedule for the Search index. Turns out that a number of users had a modified date of NULL and the stored procedure that the index runs was grumpy about that. I resolved that issue with Sebastian's help and all is well.

That being said, i'm about to post another error that seems to be Events related (at least both Events modules on the site are complaining about it).

Cheers
Dave

Dave: good to read that the problem was elsewhere.

Please inform me about other problems.
