Upgraded a site - www.myrtlebeachgolftalk.com to DNN 7.3.4 and Events 6.1.5 and noticed that there are now two issues:

  1. If Popups are enabled for the site, trying to go into the Events Settings (not the module settings) results in a critical error (I'll list below)
  2. A sub-calendar, even though it has the primary calendar listed, is not showing any events

The error generated when Popups are enabled is:

I have not installed Events on 7.3.4 yet, but will do so this week. I am working on a new version and see if I can reproduce the problem.

I assume you have a backup?

I assume the error message displayed is not connected to opening settings, it is obviously from a background process (scheduled search).

 Ernst,

Thanks for the reply.  Unfortunately I do have a backup, however I did not notice this issue until I tried to see what was going on with the events not showing up in the sub-calendar.  By that time, my busy user population had created enough forum postings, I could not revert back.  I resolved the issue by turning off popups, however I left the test site the way it was so I could do some tests and try to resolve the issue.

In looking at the logs, (I think I fixed the search issue), nothing appears when opening the settings fails, so it's hard to start looking (at least on my end).

As for the sub-calendar issue, it appears that it is one of the users who is entering the information, and for some reason their entries are not showing up.  I don't thin kit's a permissions error for when I look at the main calendar with any class of user (admin and non-admin), the entries can be seen, however on the sub-calendar, I cannot see them.  If I edit the user's entry, I had to change the category, it then shows up on the sub-calendar.  These entries existed prior to the upgrade.

 Sebastian,

I found an article that talked about removing the Users from the search results and I think that has resolved the issue.  I will try and dig up the article again.
