Hi.

I don't have deep knowledge on DNN but i have a special task on that and it's very urgent.

A company developped a good website and i've got the full IIS folder and the db.

I put it on my own pc and edited the system32/host to reflect the url i saw to be on my pc

(so url was mywebsite.testcompany.com so i put a 127.0.0.1 )

All was ok.
But i cannot put the site in production.

I tried to adapt the portalAlias to be now www.mywebsite.com  and he keep to redirect me to a mywebsite.testcompany.com.

Do u have an idea where i can find "something" to keep redirect me to this mywebsite.testcompany.com ?

Start by looking at the PortalAlias table, make sure that there aren't any incorrect portal aliases in there.

The other place to check is in PortalSettings, I think there might be a default PortalAlias in there as well

Hi.
That's what i did.
First, i tried to add only the www.mywebsite.com on the portalalias table
But it keep redirect me to the mywebsite.testcompany.com
Because there are 4 url (one for mywebsite.testcompany.com then 3 with resssources like mywebsite.testcompany.com/en-us ) i decided to "update" the portalAlias to be directly my correct domain
so mywebsite.testcompany.com/en-us to www.mywebsite.com/en-us
But if i do that, i've got an error 'cos he still try to redirect me to mywebsite.testcompany.com

I also find on the database the default protal alias, it was a different value than mywebsite.testcompany.com , but i try also to put www.mywebsite.com
Still not working.

I checked the default page, which is a page where u can choose your "local". when i don't see any redirection there or special code.

The company that develop the website doesn't exists anymore so i cannot contact them. Even the "host" account i don't have, just an admin account for this portal.

pleaasse help :(

OK i've got it !

How i did ?

I was not sure if adding on the db the portalalias was correct. so i changed the db columns isSuperUser for an account i had.

With that, i was able to log as an host and play with the portalAlias. And adding the new uncheck the "is primary" of the previous.

Doing that solve the issue. It's a bit strange because when i edited the portalalias from temp to production it doesn't worked. So maybe dnn did something else when doing that using the UI, don"t know.

But it's working ..
