When I set the UpdatePassword to have users reset their password on their next login they cannot supply a working password no matter how complex the password they enter.

I have tried very complex and unique passwords and always get:

Your new password was not accepted for security reasons. Please make sure to choose a password which does not match a previously used password and which is long and complex enough to meet the sites password complexity requirements.

The config.web is set to the defaults complexity of 7 characters and zero nonalphabetic characters.

Going to the user profile management option does work fine.  This problem is only on the password reset on initial login after the flag is set.

Any idea why this is occurring?

Thanks.

Which DNN Version are you running?
Please make sure, the issue is logged on Support.dnnsoftware.com

Thanks for your reply and always excellent service, Sebastian.  It turns out this was a problem I caused by doing a bulk load of usernames to the system.  I had not entered a value in the CreatedOnDate column in the Users table.  I noticed that there were reports in the EventLog of exceptions in trying to convert a null to a date.  I added dates and the issue no longer exists.

I apologize for posting before fully isolating the fault, which was mine and not in DNN, other than the message being slightly misleading.

The version is 7.4, by the way.

Don,
I am glad, you were able to sort it out yourself.
If columns are required, the database should be configured not to support Null.
Would you mind to log this bug in support.dnnsoftware.com, thank you.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold

I have logged the issue. Now, if only I could get my DNNDev.me to work. :-)

I wish you a fun day, Sebastian!
