Website down - Lucene.Net.Index.MergePolicy - Error 503

We've been having lots of disruptions with our website running on DNN 7.2.2. The website goes down with (Error 503 Service Unavailable, Service Unavailable, Guru Meditation: XID: 825435418, Varnish cache server). When I log on to the server the w3wp.exe requests debugging (Visual studio Just-In-Time Debugger. An unhandled Microsoft .NET Framework exception occured in w3wp.exe). We never had such problems before. Our hosting company said that this is error on the website and not related to the server. In the event log there are constant entries of the following:

Last Activity Date:5/5/2015 7:03:33 PM

Server Name: XYZ03

This is what we are getting in the log:

Any ideas?

delete Content of /app_data/search and decrease frequency of Search indexing Job in Host > Scheduler
