Hi,
We are currently investigating document management and approval solutions for an in house Project Management tool. Our requirement is that the user has to be able to input text into textboxes which could have few paragraphs with each paragraph having few hundred words which will be filled in fully in few days time (Meaning user will come back to it to put more details). This includes creating new documents, editing existing and deleting unwanted ones. Also, only one user can edit a document at a time. Is it possible to use DNN to build such a system. Reason for DNN is already in-house systems are built in DNN and don't have SharePoint currently in the Enterprise.
Thanks,
Jose Varghese

Hi Jose
Yes.. this is possible in DNN. Create a custom module for that. Use editor for document editing purpose. Add buttons Save and Submit, satisfying your need with all validation you want.

Hi Sunil,

Thanks for your suggestion.  I am new to DNN.  When you mentioned Editor; is it HTML editor.  How to save the documents; will there be any functionality out of the box from DNN to hold the documents.  Any help is much appreciated

Hi Jose

Yes i am referring to HTML editor. Provide this to user to save data. There is also an option "Document Manager" under "insert media". Have a look at it if this can help.

Thanks,

Hi Sunil,

Thanks for coming back to me . I don't see Document manager and Insert media in my version. Are you referring to professional paid editions; we have here only the free edition.  Would you mind senting me your personal email to contact you.
