Hello all.

First - Platform 7.4.1, Documents 6.1, it is an intranet site with Active Directory, "Allow Index" check box is checked on page and document module, I have re-indexed and run the site crawler, I have deleted the search folder.

I am trying to index the items in the documents module, but I have not been successful.  To clarify, if I have a "Please Work" as title in the documents module and a link to some web site, it doesn't show up in my search.

Any help will be appreciated.

Platform does not include a parser for files, i.e. only the content of the database will be indexed. For Documents module, this might include the file name, but not file content.

Thanks for the input Sebastian.  So, to be clear -

If we upload a document and enter a title and description, the module presents the title and description and the download link.  The indexer will not give you the contents of the document, which you have confirmed for me.  I do expect it to parse the web page and present the title and the description that is on the web page as part of the search results.  It is currently not doing this.

Would there be potential issues in the DB tables?  I thought the indexing was now being done at the file level (Lucene) and at the DB level?

Any help on this would be great.

Indexing now uses Lucene as engine, which stores its index in the file system (in /App_data/search/ folder).
it still queries the modules, which support "search in its definition (See Host > Extensions) for the content to index.

Not: indexing is a process, which may take a couple of hours, depending on your settings for the Scheduler job

Ahh!  I understand how it works now.  Thanks.

I deleted the folder, cleared cache, re-indexed and run the crawler.  I know it has completed because it picked up a change in an HTML module.  Is there anything else that I can do?
