I have a site where administrative accounts cannot use the Image Manager correctly.  The host account can use the Image Manager

Using a standard HTML module, if an admin user Clicks on Edit Text they can modify the text as normal.  If they then access the Image Manager the folder indicated near the top of the image manager window is empty.  On that portal I expect it to be /Portals/4.  Probably because the folder is wrong, the admin user cannot see any files or folder and cannot upload any new images.  The upload link is grayed out.

For a host user the folder is displayed correctly as /Portals/4.  It is possible to upload news files, select from existing files and delete files.

There are other portals in the same installation that do not show this problem.  They work as expected for both admin users and for the host user.

Is there a setting somewhere that controls the initial folder a user sees?  Is there a security setting I may have awry?

DNN 7.04.00.

Richard,
Are these new sites?
You might need to log in as Host and reapply the permissions for the portal root folder.

No - these sites are old - up to ten years - and have come through a number of previous upgrades.

EDITED - Apologies to anyone getting the email of the original.  It came across quite rude.

It's a dumb question but how would I reapply the permissions for the portal root folder?  I'm not sure I see how it would help.  AFAICT the problem is that the editor is not working in the root folder.  That feels different to being in the right folder but unable to do anything.

First you should upgrade to 7.4.1 - there are a number of severe issues in 7.4.0 (and continue upgrade to 7.4.2, once available in a few weeks).

To adjust permissions, go to Admin > File Management menu item, right click the folder and select properties. This will display a popup, where you may adjust permissions. Saving it unchanged should fix permissions for host users. However, there have been users with a similar issue, where default roles "Registered Users" and "Adm" were not properly set, you may download and run my script from http://dnnscript.codeplex.com/release.... You'll need to restart DNN afterwards in order for the changes to become effective.
