The actual exception is  --> Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.

I went back and tested my Dev instance of this site that only has about 2500 users registered and the verify link worked, on the live site there are about 90,000 users registered so now I am starting to think this is just timing out, though the error happens in less than a second.  

If this was my code I would probably experiment with a longer command time out on the query that is trying to verify the user to eliminate that issue or Maybe I need to try indexing the Users table in the db?
