I have successfully installed DNN 07.04.02 (216) using the default website template. After completing the install I clicked on the visit website button which logged me into the home page as host. I see all the default pages added. I then click on the Edit this Page button. I only see in the module container header the move module drop-down, I do not see any module action buttons showing up or the edit content pencil on any of the modules on the pages I tried to edit.

I then installed a child portal with a purchased template and the same thing happened again. Cannot get the edit content pencil to show.

I have turned off inline editing and disabled popups but this has not helped.

I need some help please to fix this irritating problem.

which pages did you try to edit?
did you see in "Edit page" mode the "stay in edit mode" enabled?
