Hello, I recently create a DNN web site in which I don't want to grant registered users (or anonyous users) to show user profiles. So I set "Default Profile Visibility Mode" site settings to "Admin only".

Now... I discovered that I forgot to set "Admin only" to specific profile visibility properties, that by default have "All users" visibility (such as Prefix, First Name, Last Name, Middle Name and Photo)

My question are:

1) Considering my settings, can registered/anonymous users see these public properties? I hope that Default Profile Visibility Mode has priority respect to specific profile visibility properties.

2) If I set all profile visibility properties to "Admin Only", this operation will not affect existing users. If I try to update UserProfile table with this sql command: "update userprofile set visibility = 2" I think I should avoid to manually editing all existing users, isn't it? May this operation generates issues?

Thanks

public properties will be shown to ALL users, whenever they are able to access an user profile-
General Setting is just the Default and does not affect existing Settings. You may set visibility by using SQL as you described. There should be no side effects. You Need to restart DNN, in order for These changes to become effective.

Thank you for your reply. How can I check if a user can see profile page of another user? Which link should I test?

Login as user with similar permissions - or use a controlpanel, which supports impersonation like Advanced ControlPanel from www.oliverhine.com
