I've updated the VS Gallery release to 6.1 https://visualstudiogallery.msdn.micr... sorry about that earlier, too many different places to put a release these days!

Thank you Chris, much appreciated.

May I ask if you get any backing from DNN Corp for this work? I am a bit worried for the future of DNN as a developer as I don't really get the feeling that there is that much developer support these days and the activity in the forums seems much lower today than a few years ago. That said, DNN today is of course a hybrid between open source and a commercial software, not sure how much different things are if you are an EVOQ customer.

How would you define "backing"? :D

Joe, a DNN Corp employee helped contribute to the SPA and MVC templates that are in the template suite.

I used to work for Corp, but have been part of the community for over 13 years now. The activity level in the community is definitely less, but it is still a very strong product/platform.

I used the MVC module you provided, it is good that we can add controller, class and views into it. While anyway, it still shows errors, and it failed to compile.  Do  you have any idea why this is happening in my place? Thank you very much.

Below is info. showing up in my VS2015:

1. compiling result:

1>------ Build started: Project: Test01, Configuration: Release Any CPU ------

1>C:\website\dnndev.me\DesktopModules\MVC\Test01\Properties\AssemblyInfo.cs(34,32,34,44): warning CS7035: The specified version string does not conform to the recommended format - major.minor.build.revision

1>  Test01 -> C:\website\dnndev.me\DesktopModules\bin\Test01.dll

1>C:\website\dnndev.me\DesktopModules\MVC\Test01\BuildScripts\ModulePackage.Targets(9,5): error MSB4062: The "MSBuild.Community.Tasks.XmlRead" task could not be loaded from the assembly C:\website\dnndev.me\DesktopModules\MVC\Test01\\packages\MSBuildTasks.1.4.0.88\tools\MSBuild.Community.Tasks.dll. Confirm that the <UsingTask> declaration is correct, that the assembly and all its dependencies are available, and that the task contains a public class that implements Microsoft.Build.Framework.ITask.

I'll get a new release out with the latest changed which has the latest MSBuild Community Tasks project (128), hopefully tonight or tomorrow.

Thank you, Ash. I did not install that.  Should we install it before create a module?

if yes, is there any other configuration needing to be set after the installation?
