Hi Everyone!

I am trying to create DNN MVC project, but did not found information about full structure of it. Could someone help me, how to do it? I would be very grateful! Thank you!

This is the main reason why we wouldn't dream of using DNN to host a MVC project at the moment. Almost no support or documentation available on how to do it and I don't get the feeling there will be any time soon either. To be honest, we are a bit concerned about if there is a momentum for DNN at all right now...

Oleg,

Charles Nurse wrote a blog series about MVC and SPA module development in DNN. Basically there is an MVC panel (or SPA Panel) that hosts the module. The series can be found in the Community Blog:

  1. Introduction to MVC modules
  2. Creating your first MVC Action/View
  3. Introduction to SPA modules
  4. Localization support for MVC modules
  5. New tokens to support building pure SPA modules
  6. Handling Module Actions in MVC and SPA modules

Happy DNNing!
Michael

To add to that, Chris Hammond's starter templates for MVC and SPA modules were pretty educational for me. https://github.com/ChrisHammond/DNNTemplates

We (DNN) have provided several resources for MVC development (which we just introduced earlier this year; more is coming). Here are some reference points for you:

  • Overview of MVC development: http://www.dnnsoftware.com/docs/developers/about-modules/mvc-module-development.html
  • What MVC features are Unsupported: http://www.dnnsoftware.com/docs/developers/about-modules/unsupported-mvc-features.html
  • Sample MVC & SPA modules: https://github.com/dnnsoftware/Dnn.Platform.Samples.Mvc
  • Visual Studio Templates we produce: https://github.com/dnnsoftware/DNN.Templates/releases
  • Additional samples from the content: http://www.dnnsoftware.com/community/participate/module-contest/community-choice-awards
