Hi

I am currently busy installing a SSL certificate on our IIS 8 and when i complete all the steps the dnn website is unavailable.

I have checked and double checked the Bindings in IIS and it seems somewhere else we are missing the settings.

The website works fine on http but not on https

Is there anyone who can advise me on what i can do make our site secure as it seems everything i have read on activating dnn with SSL is in place.

Thank you in advance

Jason

Jason,

you can try to set the IsSecure flag on every page. This should work.

I know there is an easier solution, but I don't have it present at the moment.

Happy DNNing!
Michael

Hi Jason,

In addition to setting up your bindings in IIS, you may also want to enable SSL on your portal. To do this:

  • Login with 'Administrator' or 'SuperUser' permissions
  • Locate the Control Bar > Click on 'Admin'
  • Navigate to 'Site Settings'
  • Click the 'Advanced Settings Tab' > Scroll until you locate the 'SSL Settings'
  • 'SSL Enabled' should be checked

You may want to check if you need the other settings, but at a minimum, that should fix your issue.
