I'm attempting to upgrade from DNN 8.0.4 to Evoq Basic 8.5.0.296 (I was told this is the version to upgrade to first then to 9.1.1). I have followed all instructions as per the docs here: http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/upgrading-dotnetnuke

However when I navigate to "My_Website/install/install.aspx?mode=upgrade" I get a blank page and nothing happens. I have found a few cases of people with this exact issue but none of their proposed fixes worked in my case. The consensus seems to be that this is a permissions issue. I have hard reset all permissions on the folder in question yet the issue remains.

What I've done so far:

- Reset folder permissions.

- Made sure 'autoupgrade' is set to false.

- Tried in FF, Chrome, and IE.

This was a just a test before I upgrade our production server and so far it's not gone well. What else can I do to force an upgrade?

If you navigate to /install/install.aspx do you get the same blank page?

If you try to access your website what do you get?

Yes, I get the same blank page without adding "?mode=upgrade".

When accessing the website normally everything functions as if nothing had happened.
