Hi Everyone,

First off, I just wanted to introduce myself.  More a graphic designer, website development is new to me so I may not refer to all the terms properly. I've been playing around with DNN for a month, and for the most part have been able to figure things out (thanks mainly to this board).

I'm currently having problems with limiting the vertical menu display.  Can anyone please tell me how I can limit the vertical menu to just the first submenu level.  Meaning, when a user scrolls over the main menu, the vertical menu appears with the submenu items.  So far so good.  I would like it to end there but the level 2 (sub-submenus) appear when you scroll over the submenu items.

I apologize if this is not the clear. Let me know if someone needs a better description.

Thanks!!  I look forward to any help.

If you haven't already done so, I suggest you take a peek at the document DotNetNuke Skinning.pdf in the documentation downloads package.  The vertical menu, on the default skins, is the Tree View menu and you can see a list of its attributes beginning on page 60 in the skinning document.

You can limit the level, and you can limit it to root only, but I don't believe that control can be limited to a specific number of children.  So you'd need to either use a third-party menu that does, or make those children hidden and access them through different ways (like by using the Child Links module from Ventrian as a table of contents, with it set to display hidden children).

An update:  I failed to mention the new nav controls, check out page 22 of DotNetNuke Navigation WebControls.pdf.  The example is given there, ExpandDepth = 1 if you want a single level to be pulled.  Using these new web controls it is possible to do what you seek.
