Hi

I have a requirement to allow the newsletter page to be used without exposing the other admin menu options.

Is this possible.  Its almost like we need a "lite" version as a module.  Woukld this not be useful in many scenarios.

The third party alternatives look overly complex

I did read somewhere where a person changed the roles of the admin modules - I think if I'm correct Dave Buckner has something along those lines - http://www.davebuckner.com - I'm pretty sure that's his url.

I know that the changes this person was talking about was setting the permissions in the SQL table to allow the module /page to be edited.

I've manually performend that procedure which Nina describes, and it worked.  However, the URL she points out to Dave Buckner even has a module he has put together to make it really easy to do it!  It's the TRTControlPanel.  I haven't tried it yet but plan to very soon, on 4.3.3.  It should be much easier than manual database edits.

Sorry about the delay replying - one tends to solve problems and move on forgetting about other users.

Providing access to the newletter was achieved with a nice little module from WorkControl - bulk email.
Essentially this is exactly the same as the admin NL control.
Worked first time for less than thre cost of a pizza
