If you're interested Dario, I made this change to the blog source and would be happy to pass my info on to your dev folks.  Basically I just added an extra column for ApproverRole and AuthorRole to the blog table.  I added  a drop down in the blog settings so the user can choose the roles for approving and authoring.

In a nutshell a group of users can publish to the blog and the Publish button is only active for people in the approver role.  We have 10 people adding entries and 2 people looking them over and approving/denying them.  It would be easy enough to add another column for ViewRole and update the code accordingly.

I went a little nuts to please my users and made blogs with entries needing approval turn red for approvers and I also have it emailing approvers when an entry is submitted.  Much like what you did for comments, but mine is for entries.

Just an fyi and if you'd like me to pass it on to your dev folks let me know and I'd be happy to share.  I have to maintain this going forward now with any new changes you make, but it works exactly how we need it to.

Miken, actually ill be very interested in the solution you have implemented. Share . Im going thrugh the same dilemma here, i need that the users in a particular role be able to post.

Tnks in advance

I'd also like to join in the calls for role based permissions to enable 'team blogs'. This would be such a great feature and really improve the module. Thank you for the module overall!

I'm another one who would like to have a role based permission to blog. I have a team that should give updates into one blog - a "teamblog". Today they all need to use the same account and it's impossible to see who wrote the text since every contribution appears from one user. PS: Yes, it is a cool module !

All, check out http://dnnblog.codeplex.com/ if you want to request features to be added to the DNN Blog project. This is probably the best place you could possibly do so!  It is very easy to sign up and submit a request or bug report.

 Hi Mike,

Would appreciate it if you could share your codes with me as well as we are facing the same problem.

Regards,

Adrian
