Hi all,

We have mutliple root domains and we want to authenticate users from the multiple root domains. Is this possible?

For example we have

aa.xyz.com
bb.xyz.com
cc.xyz.com

I can set the the root domain (in Authentication tab in Admin List) as aa.xyz.com and users from aa.xyz.com can authenticate but not users from bb or cc. This is the similar if I set bb.xyz.com as the root domain - users from aa and cc can't login in, but users from bb can. Any thoughts on how to solve this?

I also tried leaving it blank but then it doesn't anybody at all. I don't think I can put multiple root domain...

Thanks
Derek

I have AD integration working (sort of).  I'm assuming that your three domains are not part of the same forest?  If you set the DNN windows authentication domain to aa.xyz.com then in order for users from the other domains to successfully authenticate there must be a two way trust between aa.xyz.com <-> bb.xyz.com and aa.xyz.com <-> cc.xyz.com.

I'm in a similar situation, though I really only need one domain to be able to authenticate. My server is in one AD domain, and I need to authenticate from another. I enabled the AD authentication, set my root domain to the domain I need to authenticate from, checking the Windows Authentication and Synchronize Role boxes. It took everything OK. BUT I can't authenticate from that domain.
  • I CAN authenticate from the domain the server is in.
  • I CAN login to the server from the other domain
  • FrontPage CAN authenticate using the other domain
  • IIS CAN authenticate using the other domain.
So why can't DNN?
