Okay, but I can only post in PUBLIC in gemini.
Should I post there...? Or somewhere else...

Suggested text:

Possibility to track if a thread in a forum is answered.

If you could filter out answered / inactive threads this would make the use of the forums as a "problem solver" a lot easier.
Users that want to could specifically search for unanswered threads.

The ammout of  posts is not an indication for this since there are threads with a lot of replies without being solved....
Maybe this could also solve another minor issue.
Some people tend to forget their threads....

So you could make three states
- active threads
- threads that are answered
- threads that where abandoned (inactive)

1. Create a possibility for a user to set the thread as "active" / "solved".
2. After a certain period of inactivity (and the thread not being marked as solved)
send the person who started the thread a notification mail:

The "retretret" thread on the  "blahblah" forum you started has not seen any activity for "someperiod".
-The thread has been marked as inactive.
-If your posted a problem that is answered , please post your solution and mark the thread as such.
-If the problem is not answered please mark the thread as active again (and provide any extra info you have).

I guess these messages have to be defined really carefully since not everybody is posting "problems" (I'm not a native speaker...)
If people are not dicussing a problem they don't have to do anything....

You can put it in Gemini, but I've already finished it.

As I said before, I am reluctant to have any email notificaiton here. Besides that your request requires a core service or some type of queue engine.

I have it broken down into the following:

  • Not Specified
  • Unanswered
  • Answered
  • Informative

I am defaulting it to unanswered, except I am not updating any previously entered threads (this avoids setting all threads to answered or unanswered for the upgrade scenario as new module users and threads will not have this problem)
