Modules are great and can save dev time in many cases.. but have you considered just plunking down a standard DNN module template, and rolling your own code?

Try: http://samples.gotdotnet.com/quickstart/aspplus/doc/default.aspx

I come from a classic ASP background, and have found that it's really not that hard to adapt my VB experience into getting what I want done. I -am- using ListX for certain datalists, but thats just because it's a lazy mans tool for me.. so if you find one these pseudo-code modules is just not doing it for you: bite the bullet and code yourself, or, pay $50 on getafreelancer.com or elance.com and get someone to do it for you.

I've gone ahead and purchased a subscription to OnyakTech, and downloaded H2O.

Creating the form worked pretty well, there seems to be a lot of potential for this module but my opinion is that it is not ready for prime time.

The problem is the lack of useful documentation. The only documents that I've been able to find contain mostly descriptions of what the module can do but not much about how to do it.

There are also some issues with browser compatibility, error logging and timely response to support requests.

Under FireFox the form layout falls apart, for example the submit button rides in the middle of the form and the form blows out the bottom of any container you may be using. I'm sure I could fix this via the CSS files but I would hope that the basic install would work or at least be tested under multiple browsers.

When the module throws an error is displays a "friendly" error message on the screen but nothing is logged. I suspect that the event logging functionality of DNN isn't used. This makes trouble shooting very difficult.

I really want to make this module work for my site so if I'm missing soemthing obvious or there is more documentation that I'm not aware of I would be grateful if someone could point it out to me.

Thanks

John

John,

I can help you get what you need out of H2O, simply post a request to the Support page at www.OnyakTech.com or email Support@OnyakTech.com.

Yes, I see them.  There is a delay due to the increased beta testing of SigmaPro 6.0 and all support issues are handled on a FIFO basis.  I expect this delay to only last another week since the final version of SigmaPro 6.0 will be released next week.   In regards to your issues, please download and install the latest version of H2O.  The issues you are reporting were fixed in ealier versions.  Also, let's continue this via email or through the support system at OnyakTech.com so that we are not drowing the DNN forums.  We can also setup a time to chat using SigmaLive from OnyakTech.com so that I can walk you through H2O if you wish.

I have downloaded and installed the latest version (3.6.11) previous to this. I have also submitted more emails via onyaktech.com. I have also called the 800 number and never received a call back.
