Hi, is the DotNetNuke Starter Kit (4.3.5) supposed to work on Visual Studio 2005 as well?  I have VS 2005 and Visual Web Developer installed.  I've installed the starter kit, but it only shows up in Visual Web Developer.  I want to use Visual Studio 2005 to develop modules.

I can manually add references to the DotNetNuke (4.3.5) dll file, but then I can't debug.  I've also tried attaching to process, but that doesn't work for me either.

I'm trying to follow the BlankModule solution here: http://vladan.strigo.net/Default.aspx?TabId=76, but when I get to the part '3. Now startup Visual Studio 2005 and choose - New... “DotNetNuke website“', the DotNetNuke website option isn't there.  As I say, it shows up fine in Visual Web Developer.

Your issue may be related to the fact that you have both VS2005 and VWD. I have VS2005 and the the Starter Kit for 4.3.4 works just fine with it. I don't have a solution for you though, but basically you need to copy all the templates, etc. from the default locations for VWD to the default locations in VS2005. Seems like the installation process has a built-in preference for VWD.

Just reinstall it within the environment or folder you are working from.  The version .4 or .5 should workin in both environments.  in .4 you just click the VS content file and it runs but you need to right-click the website folder in the Solution Explorer window and goto "add new item" to see the template.  The link "BlankModule" you have above is the old way.  The starter kit has a template for mods and skins now and save you 70% of coding. : )

Ok, I seemed to have had a corrupt installation of VS 2005.  After several hours uninstalling, and reinstalling, its working, thanks!
