Our site was recently hacked or something. I was editing the site when it all of a sudden started giving me a null reference error and while trouble shooting found the that the files have been deleteted and an event in the log that says "portal deleted at 1:35:50 pm by host". I was logged in at that time but did not delete the portal.

I have a backup of that portal but since that backup was made I have added another portal. I have restored all the files for the deleted portal but I am having trouble restoring the database, I am trying to appending the old data to the existing data, sql server is telling me that the primary key cannot be replicated.

Is there a way to tell SQL server to allow identity insert and not auto increment when appending? I am hoping there is a sql server 2000 expert out there that can help me...PLEASE.

Thanks, Justin.

Yes, you can turn off the identity increment using Enterprise Manager, and when you are finished turn it back on.

This may leave your portal unstable though if identities have been created after the ones you are trying to put back in.

I would restore what you have to a different location, and copy/paste, or use export template on what you can to recreate it in the new one.

I seem to be unable to restore the site fully to it's origional functionality.
The home page is replaced by a login module where host and admin and new registrations are refused.

I'm so close but I am stuck.

HELP!!!

Thanks, Justin.

Ok, now this is getting rediculous. Since I could not get my backed up portal to work I tried starting over by creating a new portal and recreating the site but I get this error:

Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
Parameter name: index

Someone must have been through this already I can't be the first to restore a lost portal.

Thanks, Justin.

Ok, I have tried to seperate the portal into seperate DNN installs but I can not get that to work either. It does not like the connection string even though it is the same one from the Backed up with the rest of the portal. I get an error that says SiteSqlServer has already been added.

I thought The DNN community was more active than this.

Anyone out there?

Thanks, Justin.
