What might be happening is that your application is getting restarted before all the modules are installed.

This will happen at random times especially on ASP.Net 2.0 (DNN 4.x) because asp.net 2.0 monitors for file changes and restarts/recompiles automatically.

Try starting over again, but this time remove all the modules from the install\modules folder except for HTML & Links.

If it makes it all the way through installation, then you can install the other modules one at a time.

I think this is a new problem with 4.3.5, since an install of 4.0.1 went flawlessly

If I am not mistaken, that tutorial reccomends using the Source version. I wonder why? If you want to develop modules you should use the install version. It is faster, easier to install, and easier to debug with.

Follow these directions:

and setup is a breeze. I install DNN multiple times a day because I use a seperate DNN install for each module I work on. I can install it in less than 3 minutes.

Hi,

Yes you are right, it uses the source version. The reason being, because of the App_GlobalResources bug as i mentioned.
It's done only once to create a new baseline, after that i used the fixed version to create new sites. I take the Precompiled version from there and use it.

The bug has still not been fixed as of 4.3.5. hence the workaround.

Thanks

Regards KM

It's definately not just the source version. It's the Install version I've been trying to download, and that's the one that's tossing these errors.

Seems to be isolated to 4.3.5 however, since I can get a 4.0.1 to install flawlessly (using the exact same methods).
