Yay... Take Me to the Community!

Welcome to the DNN Community Forums, your preferred source of online community support for all things related to DNN.

I would also be running DNN in the DMZ.

So in the interest of discussion, you setup a single AD domain controller in the DMZ, and then push the AD updates from the inside?  Or do you punch a hole thought the firewall for LDAP queries from the DMZ?

I would prefer to open a hole in the firewall, restricted endpoints, stateful monitoring, etc...  Why would I choose to copy the entire AD security info into a less-secure DMZ?

I would agree with that.

I've wired up a Sync Password option in my version, which does (hopefully) exactly what you'd like. In my instance I need the passwords because the app does some tricky single sign on to OWA and maybe 10 other web applications we use on your intranet.

Oliver,

once again, a great addition. Did your password sync make it into the 3.2 release?

Preferably, I agree with the general course of the thread that there should be an admin option to not cache passwords in the DNN db and have the AD auth module query AD for each and every login.
