I want new users to have to enter a verification code (received by email) after their first log in. Therefore I have logged in as Host and navigated to:

  • Admin > Site settings > advanced settings > Security Settings

There I noticed that the radio buttons for all of the 4 options ('None', 'Private', 'Public' and 'Verified') were unselected. I clicked on the 'Verified' radio button and then, in order to record the choice, I clicked on 'Update'.

However:

  • After their first login users are not being asked to enter a verification code
  • The radio button for 'Verified' is unselected whenever I go back as host to the security settings (in fact the radio button of all four options is unselected).

I confirm that:

  • I have a CSS based navigation installed (that uses the HouseMenu SkinObject) as nav menu when logged in as host.
  • I am running DNN 4.3.5 on Windows 2003 in a shared environment.
  • SMTP settings are working.

Any ideas on how to make 'verified' a persistent setting and ensuring users are asked for a verification code after their first login?

Thanks

Eoghano
